Havertz pursuit
Chelsea are reportedly set to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen Kai Havertz, who has been the source of much transfer speculation in recent weeks.
The 20-year-old has impressed on the return of the Bundesliga with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich linked with a move for the forward.
However, Chelsea are poised to make a £75m move for the German in the next transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
Gerson battle
Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to sign Flamengo midfielder Gerson, who has also been linked with a move to Spurs.
Jose Mourinho’s side are believed to have had a £16million bid rejected for the highly-rated midfielder, with Frank Lampard’s Chelsea now also reportedly interested.
Fox Sports are reporting that the Brazilian side will demand up to £30million for the 23-year-old, who still has three years left on his current contract.
Chelsea ‘only option’ for Werner
Chelsea have emerged as the ‘only option’ for Timo Werner, according to Sky Germany reporter Marc Behrenbeck.
The Blues are moving nearer to signing the German after pushing ahead of Liverpool in the queue to sign one of the most highly-coveted young forwards in world football.
Sources have told football.london that there is now a “high probability” that Frank Lampard’s side will activate the striker’s €55million release clause before it expires on June 15.
Frank Lampard’s side are believed to have beaten off interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona Manchester United and Liverpool for the forward’s signature.
