When does the 2020 summer transfer window open?
The summer window opens in England at the end of the season – currently May 18, but that will almost certainly not be when it finishes due to Covid-19 delays.
Players can be officially registered with their new clubs when the Fifa international window opens on July 1.
From January 1 onwards, Premier League players with six months left on their contract have been able to negotiate and agree pre-contract deals with foreign clubs.

Spurs eye Barca star
Reports in Spain suggest Tottenham are keeping a close eye on Barcelona midfielder Arthur Melo.

According to Mundo Deportivo , Spurs are exploring the possibility of signing the Brazil international, who made 16 appearances in LaLiga in an injury-hit campaign.
The 23-year-old recently committed his future to the Catalan club, who he joined in 2018, but the LaLiga giants could be forced to sell players this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Arthur has also been tracked by Inter Milan and Spurs could face a battle to lure the former Gremio man to the Premier League should they follow up their interest.

Arsenal ‘to sign Pablo Mari’ permanently
Arsenal will attempt to sign Pablo Mari from Flamengo on a permanent basis, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

Mari joined on loan until the end of the season in January and despite making only a handful of appearances, the 26-year-old has impressed Arsenal fans and players.
Ornstein claims Mikel Arteta would prefer a left-footed centre-back to play alongside David Luiz or Sokratis Papastathopoulos and is keen to seal a £10m deal for the Spanish defender.
Arsenal have also been linked with Remis defender Axel Disasi, although signing Mari could end their interest in the 22-year-old.

Blues ‘join Aubameyang race’
Chelsea have reportedly lined up a cheeky move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join several clubs chasing the Arsenal striker.

The 30-year-old is out of contract next season and is stalling over renewing his deal as the Gabonese wants to play Champions League football.
The Gunners have been given a tough decision to cash in on their star striker, who has scored 49 Premier League goals in 74 games since his £55m move from Borussia Dortmund in 2018.
And according to Bleacher Report, Frank Lampard is keen on snaring Aubameyang from their London rivals, although Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United are understood to be at the front of the queue.
MAN CITY NEWS
Inter ‘want £71m for Skriniar’
Manchester City will have to break their transfer record for a third consecutive year if they want to sign Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan.

City, who signed Rodri for £62m last summer, have been told to fork out 80m (£71m) to lure the Slovakian centre-back away from the San Siro, according to Calciomercato.
Pep Guardiola’s pursuit of a new defender is no secret amid rumours of a possible departure for John Stones, while Fernandinho’s performances as a makeshift centre-back have been questioned this season.

Pedro ‘definitely leaving’, Willian could follow, says Nevin
Pedro will leave Chelsea and Willian could follow when their contracts expire, according to Chelsea legend Pat Nevin.

The pair are both out of contract this summer and due to the club’s over-30 policy, they would not be offered than longer than a one-year extension, although it is understood Pedro has not been offered new terms.
“Pedro is definitely going as far as I understand,” Nevin told West London Sport. “There is a question mark with Willian but will it be something that Chelsea fans will be overly worrying about? No.
“Christian Pulisic is coming on, Callum Hudson-Odoi is there and they won’t always play with wingers anyway because Frank plays with a 4-3-3.”

Gunners chase Brazilian starlet
Arsenal have entered the race to sign Brazilian teenager Gabriel Veron after seeing Everton’s bid rejected.
According to ESPN Brasil , Veron is being watched by the Premier League clubs and Barcelona after breaking into Palmeiras’ first team, scoring twice in four games.
The Toffees have had a bid worth £13.2 million turned down by the Brazilian club, who are demanding double the fee for their prized starlet, which could price him out of a move to England.
Under EU rules, players from South America cannot be registered until their 18th birthday, which means Veron would have to wait until September to complete his proposed move.

Carlos dismisses Liverpool talk
Sevilla defender Diego Carlos has reiterated his desire to finish the season in LaLiga and insists he is not thinking about his future.

The Brazilian centre-back has been linked with Liverpool and Barcelona in recent times after an impressive season in Spain, but the 27-year-old isn’t bothered by speculation about his future.
“There is a lot of news that has come out but I don’t know,” Carlos told
Onda Cero. “What I’m thinking about is finishing La Liga as well as possible and leave the other stuff for later.
“Serious things like that must be left for later as I’m focused exclusively on Sevilla and finishing the season as well as possible.”

Man Utd edge over Arsenal in Upamecano race
Manchester United are well placed to win the race for Dayot Upamecano, according to France Football.
Upamecano, who joined RB Leipzig in 2017, is expected to move to the Premier League this season after talking up English football in recent days.

The 21-year-old has plenty of admirers, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and both Manchester clubs interested.
Arsenal have made the move, but United have the edge. Not only are the Gunners restricted financially, but Upamecano visited United’s Carrington base before moving to Leipzig, and at 40million euros he represents a much cheaper option to Kalidou Koulibaly.

Man Utd dealt Saul Niguez blow
Yup, it looks like this one could be over.
Manchester United’s hopes of signing Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez are evaporating fast.

There are already reports they’ve had to redraw their transfer plans at Old Trafford after the Premier League shutdown, and now unrealistic demands are scuppering fresh plans.
Atletico have demanded no less than Niguez’s buyout clause of £135m, according to The Mail.
With United set to spend north of £100m on Jadon Sancho, this looks like it’s run its course.

But Spurs would miss out on compensation…
That’s right, Tottenham would miss out on compensation if former manager Mauricio Pochettino finishes the season as Newcastle United boss.
Pochettino has emerged as a top target for Newcastle’s prospective owners, who are close to completing a £300million takeover from Mike Ashley – pending Premier League approval.

The Argentine was placed on gardening leave after being ‘relieved of his duties’ by Spurs in November but under the terms of his departure the Londoners are only due compensation if he takes a new job within six months. The deadline is set to pass on May 19, two days after the League season was due to end.
With a June restart now being considered for the Premier League, Newcastle’s new owners could replace Steve Bruce for the run-in, raising the intriguing possibility of Pochettino facing his former club this season, with Spurs yet to visit St. James’ Park.

Man Utd open to Dalot sale
Manchester United will listen to offers for Diogo Dalot this summer, according to The Sun.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s arrival has forced him further down the pecking order, and United will consider offers of around £35million for the full-back.
He joined for £19m from Porto and is considered one of the best young full-backs in Europe, but injuries have curtailed his progress at Old Trafford.

Liverpool are set to miss out on millions should Chelsea sign Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.

Coutinho moved to Camp Nou in January 2018 in a deal worth £141m, with Liverpool receiving £105m up front in a record fee recouped for a British team.
The remaining £36m is made up of performance-related add-ons, as is common in transfer agreements, according to Press Association.
