Ronaldo vs Messi: Bruno choose the best player between Messi and Ronaldo

The Ronaldo vs Messi comparisons is a debate that will never end. The narrative has changed with Pele vs Maradona the previous players to be compared endlessly.

Nevertheless, it is obvious that no player comes close to both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi when it comes to consistency over the last decade and the records both players have broken.

Lionel Messi has 627 goals, 289 assists in 856 appearances for both club and country in his career to date while his opposite number and long time rival, Cristiano Ronaldo has 725 goals, 220 assists in 1000 appearances for both club and country.

It is a known fact that both players are phenomenal and several players have taken sides.

In fact, it is a general believe that you are either for Ronaldo or for Messi.

Manchester United’s January signing, Bruno Fernandes has also weighed in on the discussion after he was asked and the Portuguese has opted for his fellow countryman, Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in the world.

In an interview with Canal 11, the midfielder who has been in terrific form since his arrival at Old Trafford when asked who he thinks the best player in the world is, he said:

“When you go to the national team and bump into the best player in the world it leaves a mark on you.

The first time I arrived I had the opportunity to talk to him. He even came to me and said ‘So, are you doing well at Sporting? You have scored a few goals. It was Ronaldo who came alongside me and said I was doing well.

“The words he said were meaningless emotionally, but just the fact that a player like him is aware that I’m doing, you do think ‘how is this possible?’ Of course he was at Sporting, the club that made him and for which he has an affection. Cristiano gave me very good references before United signed me, it makes me proud that a player like him recognises my value.”

By calling him the best in the world, Bruno Fernandes has chosen his compatriot ahead of Argentina International, Lionel Messi.

Messi has won the Ballon D’or a record six times followed by Portuguese attacker, Cristiano Ronaldo with five to his name.

Messi has come in for criticism having failed to win any trophy with his International team despite boasting more talents than Ronaldo’s Portuguese team. Ronaldo on the other hand has won two international trophies, winning the Euros at the expense of France and the UEFA Nations League at the expense of a star studded Netherlands team.

Ronaldo has also played in more leagues, playing in Portugal, England, Spain and now Juventus winning multiple league titles.

However, despite Messi’s lack of mobility, his talent on the field of play cannot be denied.

It is sad that football fans are unable to watch their stars in action after the Corona Virus COVID 19 outbreak in the world.
